Privacy policy for the Ninedart app
Last updated: 26 October 2026
1. Controller
The controller responsible for processing personal data within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:
Nick Wiesegart
Lindenstraße 9
29575 Altenmedingen, Germany
Email: contact@byteweise.com
2. Principle
Ninedart stores everything entered in it locally on the device where the app is installed. There is no user account, no advertising, no analytics or tracking service and no server operated by the controller. The controller receives no personal data through the app.
3. Data stored on the device
Ninedart keeps player names, games, stats and settings in the app’s storage on the device. This data is not transferred to the controller or to any third party. Saved games can be deleted in the app under “Reset stats” with “All”. All data is removed by uninstalling the app or clearing its storage in the Android settings.
If Android backup is enabled on the device, Android may back up this data, encrypted, to the Google account so it can be restored on a new device. This backup is controlled by Google and the device settings; the controller has no access to it.
4. Backup file
A file containing the saved games can be created under “Backup”. It only leaves the device if it is actively shared via the share menu, and only with the recipient chosen there.
5. Score caller
The caller’s announcements are recordings shipped with the app. No data is sent and no audio is recorded for them.
6. Purchasing the full version
Purchases of the full version are processed by Google Play. The app only checks with Google Play whether the full version has been purchased and receives no name or payment details in doing so. This check serves the performance of the purchase contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Google’s privacy policy applies to the purchase.
7. Permissions
Ninedart has no internet permission and technically cannot send any data to the internet. The app only uses vibration for feedback during score entry, Google Play’s billing permission for the purchase, and reading the network state, which does not allow any data to be sent. Purchases go through Google’s Play Store app on the device. The app does not download any content.
8. Testing phase
Before its release, Ninedart is tested in a closed test on Google Play. Testers sign up through a tester group on Google Groups. By joining and taking part, the controller receives the email address of the Google account and any messages sent to the controller. This data is used solely to admit participants to the test in the Google Play Console, to provide them with the full version as a thank-you and to respond to feedback. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. The list is deleted once the test has ended; participants can be removed at any time on request. Google’s privacy policy applies to Google Groups and Google Play.
9. Contact by email
When the controller is contacted by email, the email address and the content of the message are processed in order to handle the enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where the enquiry relates to a contract or steps prior to entering into one, and otherwise the legitimate interest in answering enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The data is deleted once the enquiry has been dealt with, unless statutory retention obligations apply. The mailbox is operated on the controller’s behalf by IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Str. 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany (Art. 28 GDPR).
10. Rights of data subjects
Under the GDPR, data subjects have the right of access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18) and data portability (Art. 20). They may object to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (Art. 21). Requests can be sent informally to the email address above.
Data subjects also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority responsible for the controller is the data protection supervisory authority of the German state of Lower Saxony.
11. Website
The website privacy policy applies to visits to byteweise.com, including the Ninedart pages.
12. Changes
This privacy policy will be updated whenever changes to the app affect data protection. The version published on this page applies.
